State of Decay by James Knapp – external review

STATE OF DECAY by James Knapp
Roc, 2010, 370 pages, 978-0-451-46310-4, Mass Market Paperback, $7.99

Genre: Science Fiction

And now, as my newest for BSCreview, we have State of Decay by James Knapp.

I enjoyed this book once I got my bearings, and though it’s a little fuzzy in some regards, it’s fast-paced and pretty exciting. Plus, if you look a little deeper, you’ll find some thoughtful themes, such as what it means to be human and the effects of constant warfare. If you don’t care about that, then I suppose you can ignore it and just enjoy the action, but I personally found that it added something to the experience.

The second novel, Silent Army, is already available, and the third novel, Element Zero, will be available on April 5th.

Thank you to Boomtron and Roc for providing a review copy of this novel.
